Relational
• Series: Ephesians
Two weeks before I got married, I sat across from my pastor and asked, “would I be more effective in ministry if I stayed single…or would God be ok with me getting married in two weeks?” I had really been struggling because I had come across what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7:32-34 where he talks about how a single person can give their focus solely to God…whereas a married person’s focus is divided. My pastor quickly and confidently told me, “Don’t look at marriage as an obstacle to sanctification, but rather a means to sanctification.” He also explained that “God would teach me things through being a husband and maybe someday as a Father that I may not learn otherwise” Relationships are God’s tools to make us and those around us more like Jesus. Today, as we continue to learn about our Identity in Christ, we want to focus on how we can do that through our relationships.
